Chief Peter Uviejitobor and Chief Evans Iwurie, lawmakers of the Labour Party representing Udu and Ethiope East constituencies at the Delta State House of Assembly, have officially defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state. Their letter of defection to PDP was read by Speaker of the Delta state House of Assembly, Monday Igbuya, during a plenary session on Tuesday, April 4, The Punch reports. The lawmaker in a letter entitled “Notice to quit Accord Party of Nigeria’ read during plenary by the Speaker, Chief Monday Igbuya, said that his decision to quit was predicated on internal crisis in the party. He said the party was expecting more defections soon because members of PDP have proved their mettle through good governance. Esiso welcomed Okoh to the party and called on members of opposition parties to come to the PDP.
